VOTE: GABRIEL HILL
for At-Large Director, Mar Vista Community Council
With your VOTE, I will advocate to:
Work on local issues concerning housing
Bring BlueLA to the westside: https://www.bluela.com/
Work to help improve, manage and regulate the demand of scooters
Locate, designate, and fund more community murals
Start and implement a day in the community where local residents focus on upkeep of their immediate environment which includes: area cleanup, picking up trash, street cleanings, and other opportunities like meet-and-greets— to engage neighbors within our community
Venice and 405/Homelessness: I understand this is a tough issue and it will require all hands on deck, we must address it -- with a balanced approach, utilizing our local Mar Vista resources and City resources. I would like to propose a trial program, called “Bridge to Work.” Those in the program are paid to pick up trash and help keep the city clean. This program has proved effective in San Jose.
Streaming/Recording our meetings: There might be community members unable to physically come to our meetings--it would be nice to have an option to include them digitally. Let’s discuss what can be done-- to effectively involve as many Mar Vistan's as possible.
Increase community outreach: Block Parties, the Fall Festival/Carnival, Small Music Festivals or a Community Concerts.
Working towards increasing the number of solar device charging stations throughout Mar Vista, similar to the cell phone charging station outside of the Mar Vista Public Library.
Partner with Mar Vista organizations like the Mar Vista Chamber to amplify our local businesses, restaurants and entertainment options to those outside of the area, throughout Los Angeles.
〰 Let’s make waves! 〰
About Gabriel
I'm Gabriel Hill, and I'm running for At-Large Director, Mar Vista Community Council. I've been a proud resident of Mar Vista since 2006. Currently, I'm the Co-Chair of The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and The Great Streets Ad Hoc Subcommittee. While serving on these committees, I've developed a deeper respect for our community and a significant understanding of our neighborhood intricacies. I'm a big believer in progress, unity, positivity, and togetherness.
None of us got to where we are by ourselves and it doesn't hurt to pay it forward by helping someone else. I'm convinced everyone wants the best for our neighborhood -- I know I do! Mar Vista has a lot of positive synergy building and I'd like to see it continue. Community examples below:

Not only am I passionate about these events, programs and projects -- I'm a champion of them! If elected as your At-Large Director, I will be an advocate and promoter of Innovation, Community, Safety, Fun, Family and the Future of Mar Vista.
I would be honored to have your vote on Sunday, June 2nd (from 10 am - 4 pm) -- Bring your "Souls to the Polls!"
Delighted to Serve,
Gabriel Hill
